Joining the Pennsylvania Bonsai Society is a wonderful way to learn, connect, and explore the art of bonsai.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced enthusiast, the society offers opportunities to develop your skills, learn from knowledgeable bonsai artists, and gain a deeper appreciation for this unique art form.

Club Demonstrations & Workshops
PBS brings in some of the top artists in the US to visit and share their knowledge with our members.
Demonstrations - Live demonstrations will provide insight that cannot be gained from books or on-line videos. Demonstrations are FREE to Club members.
Workshops - there is nothing that replaces hands on experience with your tree. Several Workshops are offered throughout the year for ALL club members.

PBS has been proud to Exhibit at the PHS Flower Show.
As a Club member you have direct access to potentially exhibiting in the show.
A staple in Philadelphia since 1829, this is the nation’s longest running horticultural event & typically draws more than 250,000 people to Philadelphia every year.
Member Discounts
PBS members have access to to discounts all around the Bonsai community including local Bonsai nurseries.
Discounted Workshops - Discounted Workshops - typically workshops are going to cost you more than hundred dollars - sometimes much, much, more. Our Club offers workshops at very affordable rates - will vary depending on the artist.
Club Auctions - you can purchase trees, tools, pots and other related Bonsai items at well under their values at Club auctions which are held a couple of times a year!

Existing members are a great source for local knowledge and members are more than willing to help.
To bonsai-newcomers the volume of information may be daunting, but with the help of a mentor new practitioners can understand and apply techniques to the care of their own trees without feeling overwhelmed.
Club meetings provide an opportunity to meet other people in your area that will share the same interests and have intimate knowledge of our local climate and species to use specific for our area.
Meet with your Buddy one on one or meet with other members in a small group. The best way to learn is with help from others with a hands on approach!
New Members - One Year Membership - June 1 - May 31
Membership runs from June 1st to May 31st. PBS hosts approximately 10 workshops or events each year. New members that join will have their membership through May the following year. $45/year
Existing Membership Renewal - June 1st to June 30th
Only for EXISTING members. Members that have joined the club after March this year do NOT have to renew in June the same year. $45/year
